INTRODUCTION


Kotler's GUI Stuff for AROS is a collection of GUI-related stuff
for AROS. Toolbars, Bitmap fonts, Pointers, and instructions on
how to make the Shell window have black or white background.

In detail:

- New toolbars/graphics for a couple of popular AROS applications
  such as OWB, MPlayer, AROSPDF, LunaPaint, AmiFig, ZuneArc
  and MurksIDE.

- A selection of Classic AmigaOS Bitmap Fonts suitable for use as
  'Title Font' and 'Tiny Font' in the Zune Preferences.

- Both Classic (3 colour) and 24-bit mouse pointers, such as the AmigaOS 2.x,
  Mac, Windows, Bebox, for use with the new Pointer Preferences program

- Instructions on how to edit your Shell-Startup script to a get a Shell
  with black background and white text.

Paolone has kindly integrated the toolbar graphics from OWB, MPlayer
and AROSPDF in latest Icaros 1.2.4.

Note, there may have been changes/tweaks to the graphics in
this version (1.2)

TOOLBARS & GUI GRAPHICS

To install these images, just replace the directory containing the images with
the corresponding application image directory.

*** Please make a backup of your old image directories.

Difference in Mplayer:

FONTS

Even though the new anti aliased truetype fonts are great, AROS
still supports the old AmigaOS bitmap fonts.  Especially at
low sizes, truetype fonts with anti-aliasing gets a bit too blurred,
this is a few alternative fonts for use as small fonts.

For example, suitable replacements are 'Title Font' and the
'Tiny Font' in Zune. 

Also, included XCourier. A more refined, polished version
of the Courier font. For use with the Shell.

Installation:
Copy to FONTS: directory

POINTERS

This is a small collection of Classic Pointers, the old three colour
type as well as the new 24-bit type.


CLASSIC INSTALLATION

- Use the Pointer Prefs program to load them.
- Select the same pointer file for both Normal and Busy

Among the included pointers are:

- AmigaOS 2.04+
- Large AmigaOS 2.04+ 
- Windows 3.11
- Windows 95
- Mac (old)

STANDARD 24-bit

- Red and Black OpenAmiga
- A few fun and amusing pointers

SHELL-STARTUP

*** DISCLAIMER: Not tested with the new, improved Shell by vidarh.
You have been warned.

Include these lines at the top of your S:Shell-Startup to get
white text on black background in your Shell.

PLEASE NOTE! You need to use the command prompt (prompt "*...)
as cited below, there already is one is in your Shell-startup, comment out
it or remove it.

HISTORY

  Big thanks for Paolone for including this! :-)
  However, this archive has a tweaks here are there.
  

General:
- Added toolbar graphics for Luna Paint.
- Added toolbar graphics for MurksIDE.
- Added toolbar graphics for AmiFig, courtesy of Frank Ruthe/Mason.
  Some tweaks have been made by me.
- Added 24-bit AISS 4.10  Normal / Busy pointer in black and red,
  together with a host of fun, amusing and/or useful pointers.

- Cleaned up this README

OWB:

- Changed the reload icon to a bigger one.

MPlayer:
- Updated the tapedeck controls to a more subtler version.
Available as MPlayer_Alternative_Set directory

Other:

- Aros PDF: Rotated images 90 degrees so that they face
  to the left/right instead of up/down. The old images are
  located in the 'Alternative Direction' directory.

- OWB: Changed the close X icon to a smaller one.
- MPlayer: Changed the Fullscreen icon to a clearer one.
- MPlayer: Changed the 'Info' icon to a better one
